How you can make a difference
There are over a million people living in the UK with the long term effects of a stroke.
Where the money you raise goes
Essentially, we at the Stroke Association try to be there to support stroke survivors in whatever way they need us to. We fundraise to make the support as comprehensive as possible but we need to more.
£4.00 will pay for a carer to have some respite time
£7.50 would pay for a stroke survivor to attend a stroke group.
£10.00 would help us to take a helpline call from a stroke survivor, which would mean we could put them in touch with their local stroke group
£170 would be the cost of a family member having 2 hours to themselves every week for a year
£400 is the cost of a stroke survivor attending a group for a whole year.
£6,000 will pay for one group to run for a whole year

But don't take our word for it - read one of our case studies (linked opposite). These are told by real people who have experienced the devastating impact of stroke, and who volunteer for us to tell their stories in the hope that they can help others.
